The visit focused on Catalonia’s Artificial Intelligence Strategy, a clear demonstration of the region’s commitment to scientific excellence, digital transformation, and technology-driven economic growth. The pavilion highlighted key achievements, including: 488 active AI companies, nearly triple the number from 2019 44% of these companies are start-ups, driving innovation from the ground up Over 14,500 employees working directly in the AI sector AI contributing 2.155 billion euros to Catalonia’s economy, representing 0.8% of regional GDP With AI touching everything from public administration to smart infrastructure and sustainability, Catalonia’s approach offers valuable insights and inspiration for cross-border collaboration between Greece and Spain under the Innovation Alliance framework.
