During MWC Barcelona 2026, the Greek Minister of Digital Governance & Artificial Intelligence, Dimitris Papastergiou, met with Spain’s Deputy Minister for Science, Innovation and Universities, Juan Cruz Cigudosa, to discuss emerging opportunities in artificial intelligence, advanced computing and space innovation.

The discussion focused on the growing strategic importance of European initiatives such as AI Factories and AI Giga Factories, as well as future prospects for bilateral cooperation in the space sector, an area increasingly central to Europe’s technological and industrial competitiveness.

The meeting also reflected the broader strengthening of institutional and innovation ties between Greece and Spain, supported through initiatives and dialogue fostered around MWC Barcelona and the wider European innovation ecosystem.

MWC Barcelona continues to serve as a leading international platform where technology, policy and cross border partnerships come together to shape the future of European innovation.
