The official inauguration of the Greek Pavilion at GSMA Mobile World Congress Barcelona 2026 marks the formal launch of Greece’s national participation at one of the world’s most influential international forums for digital policy, innovation, and industrial strategy.

Mobile World Congress is no longer solely a technology exhibition. It has evolved into a global platform where digital governance, regulatory policy, capital markets, telecommunications infrastructure, and emerging technologies converge. Governments, multinational corporations, institutional investors, and innovation ecosystems engage within a shared environment that shapes the trajectory of the global digital economy.

Greece’s Coordinated National Presence

Greece’s participation at MWC 2026 is coordinated by ΣΕΚΕΕ (SEKEE – Hellenic Association of Innovative Applications Companies) in collaboration with the Ministry of Digital Governance & Artificial Intelligence of Greece and Enterprise Greece, marking the 13th consecutive year of structured national representation.

The Greek Pavilion functions as the official national platform for institutional engagement, international networking, and strategic outreach. It brings together more than 40 Greek technology enterprises active across:

  • Artificial Intelligence

  • Internet of Things (IoT)

  • Semiconductors

  • Digital governance solutions

  • Smart infrastructure

  • Advanced and next-generation telecommunications

The Pavilion represents a consolidated national presence designed not only to showcase technological capabilities, but to position Greece within the broader international digital ecosystem.

The Institutional Role of the Innovation Technology Alliance

Within this global context, the Innovation Technology Alliance (ITA) contributes at the institutional level by reinforcing the governance and cooperation architecture surrounding Greece’s participation.

The Alliance supports structured engagement between public authorities, regulatory bodies, innovation stakeholders, and international partners. Its role focuses on:

  • Facilitating institutional dialogue in the fields of digital transformation and innovation policy

  • Supporting bilateral and multilateral engagement between ecosystems

  • Strengthening connectivity between government actors, regional administrations, and technology stakeholders

  • Ensuring that participation translates into sustained cooperation beyond the exhibition framework

While MWC Barcelona naturally strengthens Greece–Spain institutional relations, the strategic scope extends well beyond bilateral engagement. The objective is to integrate Greece more deeply into international networks of innovation, policy coordination, and industrial collaboration.

From Visibility to Strategic Integration

At GSMA MWC Barcelona, where digital policy, industrial strategy, capital allocation, and technological innovation intersect, national presence carries strategic weight.

The inauguration of the Greek Pavilion therefore represents not merely a ceremonial milestone, but a step toward deeper international positioning. It reflects a commitment to structured participation in the global digital dialogue and to advancing long-term partnerships within the European and international innovation landscape.

In a rapidly evolving digital environment, institutional coherence, cross-border cooperation, and sustained strategic engagement remain essential. Through its contribution, the Innovation Technology Alliance supports Greece’s effort to translate international visibility into durable institutional and economic integration within the global digital ecosystem.
