The Role of the University, the Vision and Mission, is to Educate. But also is needed to add some extra value to this Education.

Intermediary organisations can play an important role in the match-making between the needs of the SMEs and the research organisations.

It is recommended that appropriate intermediary systems be set up to close the gap between the HEIs and the enterprises. It is important to look carefully into the efficiency and effectiveness of this intermediary system.


  • NGOs (Non-governmental organization) are highly diverse groups of organizations engaged in a wide range of activities, and take different forms in different parts of the world.
  • Private consultant – a professional in a specific field and has a wide knowledge of the subject matter.
  • Research Foundations – promote research activity in private and public universities and colleges, at centres of research in institutes and in companies.
  • “Business incubation is a business support process that accelerates the successful development of start-up and fledgling companies by providing entrepreneurs with an array of targeted resources and services. These services are usually developed or orchestrated by incubator management and offered both in the business incubator and through its network of contacts. A business incubator’s main goal is to produce successful firms that will leave the program financially viable and freestanding.” (NBIA, 2009)
